Noelle - Day 154 (Hello World!)
So...
I haven't been exactly great about blogging lately, and I apologize. Stuff has been crazy with all the prep for Thanksgiving, which, in my opinion, is a waste of energy and holiday happiness. Save it for Christmas or spend it all on charity. Choose one.
Thanksgiving is not my fave holiday, because every year I'm forced to eat food that I hate (gasp) and worst of all...cranberry sauce. Yes, I am the weirdo of the family. Sue me.
So anyway, I've been working hard on Survivors and some other projects of mine (evil laugh...maybe I'll post some tomorrow), plus, I'm an editor for three different people right now and its starting to catch up to me.... But enough about my life. Time to jump back into Jess's (semi)awesome life. Where did we leave off? Ah yes...
“Maybe it’s an anti-dragon device.” Iron Fist said hopefully, jogging down the corridor and checking the corner for traps. “Let’s see...we are outnumbered, out-gunned, and outmaneuvered. We need to...ah,” He squirmed, then whispered, “Cheat.”

The Survivors (Parts 4 & 5)
By the time Nova and Danny even found the training hall, Jess and her siblings were already there, conferring over strategies. Mozart was doodling in a notebook that he always carried with him in his wheelchair. He showed a drawing to Jess, who nodded.
Danny caught a few words before Jess whipped around and said, “The idea of this training session is simple.” She pointed a door, several hundred feet away. “Make it through the maze first - all of your team. Computer, start Dragon Game 10. Difficulty hard.”
The floor raised and lowered and adjusted until the door was hidden behind eight dozen obstacles. Nova and Iron Fist stared. “One more thing, you two,” Jess whispered with a very evil smile. “Hope you’re not afraid of the dark....” As if on some messed up cue, every light in the training hall shut off.
“See you on the other side, suckers,” Astra’s voice said from somewhere above them. And then they were gone.
“Well that happened,” Nova said. “Let’s see, you can’t fly and I don’t do mazes. Ideas?”
“If we can catch up to them, then we can stop them,” Iron Fist said darkly, tapping the side of his mask. “And I have night vision goggles.”
“Since when?!” Nova snapped.
“Since a looooong time ago. I had Ava install them,” Danny said, jumping off the starting platform. “Let’s get moving.”
*******
The maze was a lot bigger than they had originally thought. “You know, Jess and her kids are probably on the other side and through the dang door by now,” Nova said as they ran past another turn.
“The long road has the best treasure at the end.” Danny climbed on top of a divider that was made to look like a stack of crates. “Let’s head that direction,” He added, lighting his fist of iron and shining its light on the whole maze.
“Fine by me. I don’t do mazes.”
Suddenly, a voice at the end of their corridor whispered, “Aww, you should have mentioned that before we started. Maybe I still would have dragged you into this. C’mon, Iron Fist, you’ve trained for years. Your skills obviously need sharpening. Give it all you got!”
The two boys looked at eachother and charged down the aisle, but when they got to the end of it, there was nobody there. “Even Jess can’t disappear,” Nova snapped, annoyed, and rose into the air. “Go left.”
They did go left, only to see a figure dart around a corner and vanish. They chased after her, but suddenly she was gone.
“I really, really, really hate it when she does that,” Danny said, panting.
“I know, right, it gets so annoying,” said a man’s voice from around the opposite corner.
They whirled around to see Hawkeye leaning against the wall casually, perfectly at home in this megalodon maze. He was twiddling with an arrow and grinning. “Let me guess, Clara - sorry - Jess dragged you into a Dragon training session, and now you’re dead meat.”
They nodded mutely. Danny started to say something, but the Avenger shook his head. He half-handed half-tossed Sam a black box, which made Nova buckle and slid back a few feet.
“Why the heck is this thing so HEAVY?”
“Because it has everything you’ll need to survive the game....in two minutes. Don’t drop it, don’t lose it.” He dashed off, vanishing at the end of the corridor. “Catcha later,” He called with a very non-Hawkeye-ish laugh.
“What do you mean, survive the game? It is a game, right!?” Nova hollered after him.
“Calm yourself, Nova,” Danny said, laying a hand on Sam’s shoulder. “We’ll get through here just fine.”
“Easy for you to say, Mr. Undefeatable Ninja.”
Danny raised an eyebrow and left up onto the portion. He tapped the side of his mask. “I can’t see where he went. We lost him.”
“Dangit,” Nova snapped, heaving the black box into the air. “Not only that, but I can’t get this thing open!” He pried at the only edge in the smooth cube. “How is it supposed to help us?!”
I'm trying to go easier on the RMS parts, because for a while I know that's like the ONLY thing I posted, so yeah...
Keep in mind that I'll be posting the riddle answers tomorrow on here and on G+ (not that anybody even tried to answer...sniffle) and I'll see you tomorrow! (to see what riddles I'm talking about, click here)
Anyway, bye, and have a great day!
