Rage Poetry (Because I'm Tiiiiired)

Image
Hey guys! It's Noelle, who is currently reeeeally tired.  However, I wanted to get this post out tonight because TOMORROW (yup, I'm posting again in like, less than 12 hours) I'm going to be posting something reeeeally special.  It's a surprise, so you'll have to wait (all of 12 hours) and see! However, right now, I'm just talking poetry.  Specifically...rage poetry  Read all the way to the end, because I have some news to tell you guys about as well!  :) A Rage Poem By a girl who undoubtedly will learn better one day I can’t sleep I’m spend days in this dream like state Where the line between Reality and stupid sentimentality Are blurred

Kids These Days (Episode 6)

Image
Hey. I'm grumpy today. You want to know why?  Kids.  I actually saw a kid today, probably a group of those hormonal teenagers having a good time (tsk!) and they did something that I would have NEVER done when I was their age!! Which is... right now.  I am one of those pesky kids and I do not tolerate adults degrading and undermining teenagers, as all of you know from my various posts.  If you haven't read them yet, here you go, episodes 1-5, go read them: Episode 1  (These are  the best years of your life) Episode 2  (Phones) Episode 3  (What do you want to be when you grow up?) Boobs Episode 5 (Relationships) Alright, welcome to Episode 6!  I started drafting this after one too many high school teachers used the phrase, 'kids these days' (or something to that effect) and I realized I would love nothing more than to take that teacher by the shoulders...smile and be ever-so-prissy and polite... And scream, "WHAT'S SO WRONG WITH B...

Conversation is Sin

Hey everybody! Hope school is treating y'all well :)  I just started this week and I've already face-desked multiple times, cried over homework, and decided that humanity is stupid in general.  But don't worry, I think that you're cool :) So I was digging through old files and discovered a poem I wrote ages and ages ago, inspired by A.R.'s post "Society Has Confused Me" , which is totally worth a read.  Mine's a bit different, it's more of a poem I'd say, and you guys know that I suck at poetry.  However, I did my best with this, I finished it off and added some final touches, and here it is! Conversation is Sin We live in a world where conversation is sin Can’t speak outside the box we choose to live in If others are oppressing us then why don’t we attack Because we know the demons inside Would take us as their snack If our eyesight fails We blame it on the glasses Our politicians are blind Yet They still lead the ma...

I'm Feeling Blood Thirsty (Episode 5!)

Image
Hey guys! It's Noelle.  In case you confused me with the other authors, who haven't been posting (*glares at JJ*) ...anyway. I had a lot of options for today's post, including (though most certainly not limited to): -the Giant City RV trip that I Went on months ago and still havne't posted about, and it's partially drafted and floating around on blogger like it owns the place -the STL adventures I promised last week -the Waco adventures I promised last week -literally any post that I promised to do and never wrote -a post talking about the novella I recently finished -a post talking about the short story I'm working on right now called Reality Shift -literally I had so many options ....nahhhhhh.  Let's be a bit more....spontaneous!  Yeah, spontaneous (and-totally-not-too-lazy-to-write-out-those-super-long-professional-posts-no-not-at-all)  Today, I'm feeling spontaneous and....bloodthirsty. Ehehehehe. Y'all know what that means.  Let...

Game of Thrones and Other Important Book Stuff

wassssssup ...remind me to never say that again. Hey everybody!  I know, I know, I said I'd post about my crazy adventures this week but I reeeeeally wanted to make this special announcement!  That, and, I recently read Game of Thrones and holy cow the rumors were true.   I had such a great time reading it that I decided to write down some of my actual reactions, to share with you guys! (They're spoiler free don't worry) Here they are: Who?! Wait, who? Did anybody live through that chapter? Ok so he died and became a watchaface and then he turned him into a watchaface, but what happened to him ?! Oh he died Wait, what?! Um, gross Ew Ewwwwww Touch her again and I swear I will kill you and your children you- That's it!  I'm going to kill him Ok I need a break One more chapter won't hurt, I need to know what happened Who the hell is this?! Oh.  My.  Word.  I don't care about Jon, get back to Bran! I don't want to hear ...

Muses

Hey hey hey! It's Noelle again.  Of course.  ;) This week the weather was all like "yo see that little human girl Imma gonna fry 'em" and then proceeded to crank it up to about a MILLION degrees (coincidentally, this was the same week that I started golf.  Don't you just love irony?)  Do not like, my friend, do not like. What I do like, however, is writing (note that smoooooth transition) and now that I'm over that pesky thing called writer's block, I've been doing a lot of that!  I wanted to share a piece (well, a two parter) that I wrote recently, and then I'll be on my merry way...or really, I'll droop my way to the air vent and procede to not do anything useful with my life, because seriously, what have we done to deserve this heat?  why?  WHY??! Prompts:   What does your muse look like? What creature is it (if it is alive at all)? Does it always give you ideas or is it lazy? MUSE My muse is a guy, though he’s the kind of ...

Two Books that Change My Writing

Image
Heyyy! Noelle, back again:  this time with more writing!  More sarcastic quips!  More inspirational stuff!  All this and more...in this post!! I...I don't know where that intro came from, but that bit's over now!  Done, moving on.  So last week I did a post on writer's block, specifically how to break it and tips on 'getting better'.  I mentioned that reading really helped me, and there was two specific books I wanted to talk about (if you didn't read that post, go check it out, I think it's really helpful.  But idk that's just me ^.^)  So this week, you guessed it, I'm talking about those books! Book #1:   On Writing, by Stephen King Yes, Stephen King is generally a horror writer, and his stuff isn't exactly known for pleasing the angel choir,  but you have to admit, he's a GREAT writer (despite all the F-bombs and graphic descriptions of things I'd rather not read).  If you've never read his stuff, I don't blame you, h...

Writer's Block

Hiya! It's your favourite under-cover British writer, Noelle!  (yes, Mom, I'm just doing it to annoy you at this point)  As some of you know, I recently finished writing out my series RMS, and then...hit a low point.  I couldn't find hte inspiration to keep writing, and I think it's something that every writer faces at some point in his or her lifetime.  So here are my tips for breaking writer's block and a small piece that I wrote on it (because what better way to break writer's block than to write about it?) So, starting with the tips: Don't be afraid to walk away from your work:   everybody needs a break.  If you keep trying to force writing, not only will you be tired and upset, but your writing will  reflect that.  It will  be dry and tired feeling, like a Y.A. novel whose author has written the same story with different characters eight times now.  When you start to feel stuck, walk away for a week.  A month, if you have ...

I'm Here

Hi guys, it's Noelle! I know I haven't posted in a while, and that's because nobody has... I keep waiting for somebody else to post, forgetting that I'm the one that has to drag people into posting :|  Responsiblity and that sort of crud.  So anyway, I want to start this off by saying sorry for that - both the not posting and the dragging people into posting.  I know that you guys are busy, just like I am, and as for my readers...well...I've been busy :D Which leads me to what this post is about, which is really just saying....I'm here. Even if I'm not posting, I'm alive and I'm okay.  I'm here, even when I'm not responding to comments.  I'm here, even when my posts are dry and tired and dragging along because that's how I am at the time.  I'm always here, writing and thinking and drawing and giving my readers what I can, because they're awesome and deserve the best. I'm glad that they're here, that you're he...

Adventures with Kids

Hey everybody, it's Noelle!  I...reallllllly don't have the energy to do a full on post.  But!  I do have the energy to write some posts for a different minor blog (one which I will not link on here, because you've gotten enough advertising as is), so I was like, you know what, I'll just sneakily copy and paste....they won't notice. And if you don't know, now you know Mr. President. So without further ado, I present: ADVENTURES WITH KIDS (episodes one through four)

What Parents Say v. What Parents Mean

Hello! I'm back, I'm alive, and I'm doing a bit better! Yay, writer's block is slowly retreated. Back beast, back! * sprays with holy water * Anyway, that's all I have the energy to say, so let's get onto the actual post: Ah, parents. We love ‘em.  At least, I hope we do.  It’s be a very sad world if we didn’t love our parents.  And there’s a dedicated vocabulary for parents to use that every kid under the sun knows the true meaning of.  Here’s the ones that I’m most familiar with - tell me in the comments, do your parents use these words?  No? Yes?  Maybe?  Sometimes? Are you going upstairs?   Here’s something I want you to carry upstairs. When you go upstairs....   You’re going to get something for me from upstairs, but I’m going to make it sound like you’re doing me a favor Go get the mop/broom/vacuum.   You’re going to mop/broom/vacuum up this mess that someone made (it was probably you) Is this your stuf...

Noelle - I Haz No Energy

I was planning on just skipping today's post. (you know it's bad when Momma Blogger is planning on skipping a post) I was kinda all like, "Ehh, nobody reads this blog, it's not important, heck, I could probably disappear for a month and nobody would notice."  Which...is most likely true.  It's kinda just the sad truth.  However, I eventually decided that if I decide to throw away a post or two out of sheer laziness, then the world is collapsing, the sky is falling, and hell has finally frozen over. But beyond just me stubbornly sticking to my Saturday's normal schedule, there was something else.  I opened up blogger and I realized that all four of my posts from the last month (including my newest favorite post ) have reached the "popular posts" chart on the IBFs page.  I don't know if that's just because nobody else posts very often, but I like to think that it's because some people legitimately like reading my posts and look for...

Noelle - Boobs

Before I begin, I need to throw in the small side note that this is a Dear Adults post, episode four in fact.  This is not like my normal Dear Adults posts, but it has that same sort of angry sarcasm that you people seem to love.  I didn't put that in the title, however, because the title is...important.  You'll see why in a sec. Before I really get started, let's discuss: why did you click on this post?  No really, why?  Maybe you haven't clicked on it, in which case, you should...because reasons.  But really...why did this post, out of the thousands on the internet and the several weekly posts on this particular blog, catch your eye and make you go, "huh, good reading material."  Chances are, even if you are reading this, you're a little uncomfortable. "Noelle, you usually keep it PG and blah blah don't be crude," you say. "Shut up and keep reading," I snap, because I'm writing a Dear Adults post here and ain't no o...

Noelle - Messy Theorizing

Image
Hiya! So I promised something messy this week, and messy I shall provide...Messy Marvel, that is. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s alright, don’t feel bad.  I know we just got a lot of new readers recently, so here is a quick description:  when I say Messy Marvel, I’m referring to a book series that I wrote, a.k.a. RMS.  (In case you were wondering, RMS just means Random Marvel-based Story)  That’s what I originally called it and it sorta just stuck)  I have a tendency to shamelessly advertise, so if you don’t want to read it, that’s cool, but if you do, I think you’re pretty dang cool and let me know in the comments.  If you haven’t decided, well, here’s a brief description: A group of teenaged superheroes have a new and very different kind of hero added to their ranks.  Follow this mysterious girl from age fourteen onward as she faces challenges with her team - but who among them is really trustworthy?  And who is hid...

Noelle - Artist Smackdown starts...NOW

Hi y'all! You probably read the title and thought, "Noelle what are you going to beat up an artist?  Did I accidentally walk in on a secret artist fight club?  Is this even the right blog??"  Okay, maybe not those  exact  words, and I WILL explain the title...as some point.  Maybe. Anywho, I have a lot planned for today, so might as well go ahead and get started.  This is sort of a Dear Adults, though not really.  It's also kickstarting a series of blog posts I hope will actually help people, including artist basics, tutorials, etc.  Idk how many there will be or how much I'll cover, but throw all that aside for now, because currently, I'm just going to dispel a myth about artists (ah, my favorite thing to do when I'm in a firey mood) and also, if you stick around to the end of this post, I'm going to be talking about my new writing project! Okay, so let's get started.  The victim of my sarcastic quips today is this phrase, often co...

Noelle - Creativity + Post-Dead Week Ramblings

Image
Hi guys! For those of you who don't know, I attend an online academy that fondly refers to our exam week as "Mostly Dead but not All Dead Week" (better known as Dead Week).  During this lovely week, there are no classes, only exams and essays and a swamping sea of stress, usually on late Thursday-all day Friday as you realize quite how much school work you put off literally to the last second.  *sigh* Anyway, but beyond my once-impending doom, I've also been busy creativity wise, doing pretty much everything...except RMS.  Also, a fond note to all who are nagging me about that:  Stop.  I hear you, and I'm still working on it in my head, and having felt the inspiration needed to keep working on it. Luckily, this is me, Noelle, that we're talking about, the girl with a thousand hobbies, so I haven't been idle.  (Mom in the other room: HAH!)  ...thanks.  Anyway, as most of you know I got Adobe Creative Cloud for Christmas, which is like all the ...

Noelle - 2016 Reflections & 2017 Goals

Hiya! I know I JUST said in the last post I wasn't going to be posting as much now but I was reading through some of my older posts and favorite blogs and was like 'huh.  Maybe I should do one of these posts, make it sound like I actually have New Years goals or something' (I learned long ago is that New Years goals never work out.  *shrug*) So what was my year like? I wouldn't say this was the easiest  year.  A lot of things happened, especially over the summer.  But I'm getting ahead of myself.  Where was I at, New Years 2016? I was in New Jersey, convincing my friends that starting a separate blog for Steve wasn't going to be a bad idea (really!).  We were around day 200 of the 365 Days challenge, which was fun but oh thank you Lord it's over.  THANK YOU.  (we're still living with the scars here at IBFs)

Noelle - This is Me

Image
Hi y'all! Side note to the people who don't like reading my super long, boring text posts: there'll be an art tutorial (sorta) at the end of the post, so there.  Have some fun artsy content. Okay, intro, right.  Um, hi!  Today I'm going to be doing a list/description of myself, because...well, when I was writing last Saturday's post , which was also super long and boring, I realized that a lot of times the way I am online doesn't really match up with who I am in person.  Not to the extreme that I lie or fabricate stuff to sound cooler, but just I don't say everything.  Which is okay! But today I thought I'd do a list called "Things I Don't Really Talk About", but since I know me and know that I'll wander off on tangents, I'm just calling it "This is Me", and I think I'll probably link it to my profile on the Authors page . Sooo...hi!

Noelle - Dear Adults (Episode 3)

Hi guys! Just a small foot note before I start the rant discussion:  I know that in the previous episode ( link ), I said that I was going to talk about grades the next episode, but a couple days later I ended up writing a super awesome episode which both of my parents approved of, so that's what I'm posting today.  Also, I won't be posting a whole bunch Dear Adults episodes, I promise, next week I should  be talking what the heck I've been up to lately :P  Alright, let's move on!  Whooooooo's ready?  I AM. What do you want to be when you grow up? The first time I wrote a Dear Adults letter...episode...thingie (uh...?), it was about the phrase, ‘these are the best years of your life, so enjoy ‘em’.   Shudder .  As all of you know, I utterly ripped that phrase to shreds, pointing out how incredibly insulting it was, no matter the interpretation.  It was pretty popular, probably because I went to town on it and was aggressive, sarcas...
