Hello!
Currently rocking out to Shut Up and Dance and not dancing or shutting up. Because that's how I roll.
Speaking of how I roll, I recently got a new wii game (and for those who don't know me, wii. All the time. Anywhere, if possible. Seriously) The new game, as you might have guessed by now, is called Splatoon. I would give it four and a half stars, taking off that half star because of occasionally glitchiness. But glitchiness is to be expected when its an online game like this one.

Awesome graphics, eh? |
The basic idea is this: cover as much ground as possible. Don't die. A more descriptive explanation: you're on a team of four v.s. four, each with their own contrasting color. You want to cover as much ground as you can in three minutes with your various guns (more later). Of course, the opposing team is trying to do the same. Get hit with the enemy's paint and you have to respawn, making you lose time. The surprise? You can change into a squid too! Because reasons.

Here's a pic of a players getting ready to play. Note: they all have the same gun in this pic, and that NEVER happens. Like, ever. |
Anyway, its not just the same guns everywhere. You have all kinds of variables on each gun, like range, type, and fire rate. Example: I like a long range gun that has a fairly fast fire rate, but I don't want a sniper gun. Or you might want a roller if you're not much of a fighter.
Take your place as a boy or a girl squid and boost your power-ups with different shoes, shirts, hats, and of course, guns. I have those goggles that the guy is wearing, they're quite popular with the mid-level crowds (so is a foot ball helmet that I also own)
Of course, you can always up your game with your sub and special weapons. My current favorite gun has a ink whirlwind thing for its special. You just tell it where to go, and boom! Ink everywhere. My sub is an ink wall, which prevents enemy players from approaching you for a few seconds, which can buy you some time. The guy in this photo is using an inkzooka, which sends out ten or so very annoying whirlwinds of ink in whatever direction he wants. Very annoying, very effective.
IF and only IF you get bored of the fast-action competitive play, take a break and jump into the story mode, to defeat the evil octobots with the help of what I'm pretty sure is the squid's version a crazy old guy.
Here's a quick view of different kinds of weapons, and then I'm outta here. Sorry for this random rant on my new fave wii game! I just really love it. :)

The ol' .92 Gal deco. Unlike the old(er) .92 Gal, it's been blinged and updated in all ways possible. I have the ancient .52 Gal, but I'm considering buying this when I save up enough game money. |
 |
The original splattershot. The sniper gun for the boring folk that like taking out people from far away. Efficient? No. Effective? Unfortunately, very much so. |
 |
Crush your enemies! Crush em with the roller! Destroy them all! (And paint some ground while you're at it) |
 |
Ah, the ancient NZap. I like the orange, updated version better. Everybody does. |
 |
The Splattershot Jr., or, as I like to call it, the How-To-Spot-a-Newbie gun. Surprisingly, effective and quite popular, just not for me. |
 |
Finally, the killer and highly-efficient paintbrush. Destroy your enemies even faster than with a roller, but at what cost? A LOT OF GAME MONEY!!! |
So, this has been an interesting and informative tour of my favorite game. Happy playing.
Update: I would like to note that this is a WiiU game. Sorry, y'all low-tech peoples.
