Noelle - Day 130 (CELEBRATION!!!!)
HIYA!
GUESS WHAT!!? I finished my first book today! Yep, that's right, one hundred and fifty two pages of okay-ish-ness! And you guys have already read most of it.
THE WARRIORS IS DONE!!!
So I guess I should probably start posting the new sections...right? Anyway, like I said like a week ago, I need some time to start work on The Survivors so I'm not immediately swamped in writing. So now you get a month of no RMS. Freedom is that close baby! But not yet...BWAHAHAHA!!

Random Marvel-based Story (Parts 77, 78 & 79)
“Why does every single villain like the docks as a temporary hideout? Why?” Spider-man wondered exasperatedly as they ran up to the coordinates.
Ava scanned the area with her wristwatch. “Danny’s coordinates are over there-” she pointed towards a huge crane that towered over the docks “- but the major heat signatures are coming from over there,” she said, turning towards a stack of crates on the opposite side of the docks. “Not just machinery left over from the day-time either. Moving heat signatures.”
Spider-man jumped up onto a crate to try to see better. “We’re going to need to get closer,” he called, clinging to the metal. “Nova, go see if you can find Danny. The rest of you, you’re with me.”
They dodged between the crates, following the shouting noises and the rubbage. “It’s as if Nova came through here on a sugar high,” Ava whispered.
“I can still hear you, Kitty Claws,” Nova snapped through the comm system. “I’m not seeing anybody Webs. These docks are dead.”
“Keep looking, we’re almost there,” Spider-man said, flipping over a dark puddle of liquid that looked nastily like blood. “Um, maybe somebody brought punch to this villain party?”
“No,” White Tiger growled. “Focus Web-head, unless you want to be dragged off.”
“Yeah,” Power-man added. “What she said.”
As if they needed a reminder, when they got to the last crate, they found another sticky. Flicking on his night vision mask, Spider-man read aloud, “‘So be it. -JW’ Anybody else up for a villain/hero/frenemy beatdown?”
Luke nodded, but Ava muttered, “Quit the jokes, Peter. We don’t have time for this, though I’m sure Jess does. I’m sure she has all the time in the world.” Spider-man nodded as well, trying to avoid listening to more of White Tiger’s stinging sarcasm.
“Let’s save our teammate,” he murmured, and then darted around the crate.
*******
Nova flew over the crane twice, then gave up. “There’s nobody here!” He growled and turned back to look at where Webhead and the team were heading. “But there is somebody over there.”
He took off, pushing his helmet to the limit and keeping low to the ground. “C’mon, c’mon, c’mon....” He muttered, loop-d-looping to avoid a crate that had suddenly loomed out the mist.
After what seemed like a snail-ish eternity, he stopped hard above a clearing in the crates. Whether it was a clearing that afternoon was hard to tell, because everything had either been blasted to smithereens or dented to a point where it was hard to see where it had originally stood.
He hovered there, feeling rain drench the back of his neck. He saw Spider-man, White Tiger, and Power-man hiding behind a crate. He saw a two blonde haired girls fighting fist to fist, so fast it was hard to see who was who. He said their red-and-black uniforms, just like on Shadow’s mug shot.
He saw that one of the girls had Jess’s face.
“No,” Nova whispered. And that was the last thing he could remember.
*******
Spider-man dashed around the corner and gasped. “Guys, did we sign up for doppelgangers - because, yeah, doppelgangers.”
Two blonde hair girls, both in red and black super-suits and hands balled into fists, were walking in the center of a huge, desolate crater. Except for one tossing her hair, or the other frowning suddenly, there was no difference between the two.
“Back down, Shadow,” one screamed, and that was definitely Jess’s voice. Jess loved to talk villains down before beating them to a pulp. “You’ve got no chance against me.”
The other copy growled like a wild animal, her fingers flexing. “Leave them out of this,” She snarled. Her voice was deeper, stronger, and each syllable was rolled with a heavy accent Spider-man couldn’t place.
And still, they paced in circles.
Suddenly, like a crack of thunder, Nova plummeted from the sky and slammed into the center of the twin’s circle, knocking them both back. Spider-man and White Tiger jumped out from behind their crates and pinned the two doppelgangers to the ground. “Which one of you is Jess?” Power-man said with his usual swagger.
“The one that wins,” The twin Ava was struggling to hold down spat. The other said nothing, but instead kicked Spider-man in the stomach - hard - and flipped him over. A white-and-red arm snaked around Spidey's throat, and the deeper, growling voice hissed, “Tell you team to get out of here or else I won’t be responsible for what happens.”
Spider-man started to choke, but he managed to say between gasps for breath, “We’re...not...leaving...without...Danny.”
Deaper-voiced Jess slammed Spider-man into the ground, where he lay, choking in air like it was his dying breath. At least it wasn’t, he thought, and clawed his way into a sitting position. The Jess that had been holding him lept into the air and half-jumped, half-flew over to where the other had fought her way free.
“We’re not here for you,” Jess-with-the-wrong-voice said. “Get out while you can, Webbed Warriors. She may have made me her double, but we’re not exactly the same when it comes to motives.”
The other one smiled and laughed long and hard. Her twin sprang at her, but the laughing Jess darted out of the way and ran and near-invisible speed over to where Ava stood.
“Leave her alone!” Nova yelled and blasted at laughing Jess, who dodged the beam with an eire chortle. The blast of light and energy hit a sheet of glass instead. It shattered into a million pieces instantly, making everybody shield their faces out of instinct. The two doppelgangers however, collapsed, screaming in pain with their arms curled around their head.
“What’s happening!?” Ava howled above the increasingly loud wails.
“I don’t know, but I need something medical before I can fix it! Somebody, get a first aid kit! Look at the docks entrance Nova, go go go!” Spidey yelled back.
But before anybody could leave or say anything else, the screams stopped. One Jess, the deeper-voiced Jess (though it was hard to tell them apart), curled into a ball on the ground and seemed to pass out, the other picked herself up, sorely, painfully, looked at them like she had never seen them before, and vanished.
“What just happened?” Power-man said dazedly, and nobody knew how to answer.
That's all for now folks! See you tomorrow!
