Noelle - Day 125 (Well, Hello, Again)

HIYA!
It's me again.  So guess what?  TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!  (The plot thickens)  Yesterday, I threw the killer sugar-drenched Mariokart-racing costume hang out part of the year (because so many people have those these days ... wink wink)

Anyway, photos coming soon (another coming soon:  Halloween is right around the corner people!).  But now, to focus on today's post for once.  Although I've been crazy-hyped up for The Survivors, the Warriors (RMS, for y'all clueless ones) isn't quite finished yet, so we have some RMS post to...um...post.  And - bonus!  Some art work that yet again, isn't mine.  (I'm working on it, ok?)

Here you go!  In honor of our other MAJOR author (looking at you Madison.  Start postin' y'all) here's some Ariel art work that I found on Pintresty, copied, then colored.  Um, original colored?  That sounds really lame.  Anyway, here you go.

You're welcome, Jillian.  Now you owe me a Pascal drawing from Tangled.
And, here we go!   RMS PARTS BABY!!!  Can you tell I'm all happy right now?  No?  You can't tell?  That's to bad!
Random Marvel-based Story (Part 73)

Ava waved the guys over to the computer port in the corner, while Danny tried and failed to explain to Sam what viable meant.  “Fury said to look in the database for information on Shadow, remember?”  She pulled up a screen, flicking past what seemed like an endless list of villains, most in jail or dead.  Or a "changed man".  After a while, it kinds of start to blur, Peter thought to himself as the villains flicked by.

“Hey wait!”  He blurted out, making everybody jump.  “Go back one, Ava.  The Stone Dragon?  You guys every heard of her?”  Blank faces.  “Stone powers, wings, infamous for trying to take over the world, causing an earthquake that wiped out half of New York, and taking out the Avengers?  How do you guys NOT know the Stone Dragon?  You fake New Yorkers.”

Nova scowled under his helmet.  “Is now really the time to be fangirling over some random villain?”

“Most of the info on her is classified anyway,” Ava said, but she looked fascinated.  “What else you know, Web head?”

“Um, she can control any stone.  I know right, very unique powers!  Sounds like a certain friendly neighborhood spider,” He coughed as everybody glared at him.  “Anyway, she disappeared after the earthquake.  Rumors say she either never existed (unlikely) or that she dug underground and is living down underneath New York, waiting for a chance for revenge, or that she turned good and went to school, but from what I’ve learned for her, she would never do that.”

“Went to school?”  Luke said, punching Spider-man’s shoulder playfully.  “Don’t you mean, go back to school?”

“Nope!  Fourteen years old, and never went to school!  Can you believe it?”  Peter said, happy to chatter away with another nerd.

“Ok, ok, focus you two,” Ava said, flicking onto the next screen.  “Aha!  Shadow, here we go.  ‘Barely anything is known about Shadow, except for its (gender or species unknown) hyper speed and relation to classified.  Besides random unexplained sightings and hit-n-runs on classified mission, please get permission from SHIELD superiors to continue nothing is known about this mysterious villain.’  Stupid classification nastiness junk.”  The mug shot was a blurry picture of a speeding red-dish black blur and crimson eyes (maybe it was the lighting, the photo made it hard to see anything)

“It’s not very tall,” Luke commented, examining the picture.

“I think that’s its hair,” Spider-man commented, like a scientist examining a strange new species in a jar, imported from South American rainforests.  “What do you guys think?”

“You’re weird, Web head,” Ava said calmly, glancing at their case file.  “Hyper speed would explain for the disappearances.  So would the random sightings thing.  It didn’t even stop the camera feed!  It’s like it wants to be seen.  Shadow doesn’t keep it on a down low, I guess.”

“Guys?”  Danny said from the back of the group.  They ignored him.

“Why does Shadow need the money?  That could help us find it, or at least figure out where its going,” Ava said, frowning at the file.

Luke nodded.  “Maybe just funding for later operations?”

“Guys?”  Danny said, a bit more urgently.

Spider-man stood up straight and his voice changed to the deeper, I’ve-been-a-hero-longer-than-you voice.  “Well, there could been any number of reasons why Shadow could need money - revenge, attention, funding, sick children, impressing a boss, no discernible reason, just for the pleasure of it...the list goes on for quite a while.”

“GUYS?!”  Danny shouted, causing everybody to finally turn around.  He looked at the ceiling.  “Well, um...isn’t it a little strange that Jess disappears, and then suddenly its Shadow we’re chasing, not her?  We’ve seen her leave false trails for bad guys before, and, well the mind is like a top, it must turn away before it can come back.”

“Are you saying that Jess is doing this?”  Nova said, his voice deathly calm.  Danny switched to looking at his feet.

Ava bit her lip, then added in a squeaky, uncertain voice, “Have we ever seen Shadow when Jess wasn’t around?  Like, ever?”

“The warehouse,” Luke said suddenly.  “That was Shadow at the warehouse, Mystery Man.  No, Mystery GAL.  Jess did know quite a lot about this supposedly mysterious villain.”

“Like how much,” Peter whispered, hoping that it would just be a few random facts.

Power-man started counting off on his fingers.  “She knew where the meeting was taking place.  She knew the exact time when it would happen.  She knew when Shadow was walking up.  She knew Crossbones and Shadow were making a deal.  Wait, no, that doesn’t count.  That was in the case file.”

“Just get on with it,” Peter said in that same, hushed, hopeful voice.  A hope was getting a bit more crushed every second that Power-man talked.

“She knew that Shadow was a gal.  She knew that Shadow kept hearing strange sounds like breaking glass - yeah, I don’t know what she was talking about either.  She knew that Shadow was wearing a voice concealer.  She knew that the warehouse was alarmed.”  Suddenly, the heart-stopping memory hit him full-on and he added, “And she jumped off a fifty foot ledge and just kept walking like it was nothing.”

By this point Ava had her hands over her mouth in a silent scream, and Nova looked straight-out depressed.  Danny and Peter had sunk down to the ground, and sat there, silent.  “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys, I just thought that Jess was being...”

“Jess,” They all finished.

“Wait a minute,” Peter said suddenly, after a few minutes of silence.  “How could Jess be in two places at once at the warehouse?  You said Shadow tackled her, then vanished!”

Luke shrugged.  “Maybe an accomplice?  Or a hologram?  I’m sure if you asked her Jess could fake being attacked.”

“You kidding, Jess can fake anything!”  Ava said, her voice edgier and snappier than she meant.  She took a deep breath and added, “C’mon, guys, lets go.  We have to get this mission done - and if Jess is in the way, well, I guess we’ll just have to run her over.”

“I do not understand - would we literally run on her?”  Danny said with a frown.  “That’s very rude.”

Sorry for another abrupt ending! More parts coming soon to theaters near you (I wish) Bye for now!
