Noelle - Day 239 (Finally Getting Around to Halloween)

Guess who just remembered to post?
MEEEEEEEE I scream at the top of my lungs while scrambling to the nearest computer.  And not only did I almost forget to post today, BUT I almost forgot to post my Halloween pictures, as well.  You know, it's only mid-February...I've been busy!

Ahem, as so most of you know, I went as Jessie Willow from my book series, RMS, for no reason really.  I had some other ideas, but Jess sounded like fun, so I went with it.  If you have not read the first book of RMS and plan on doing so at some point in your life, STOP READING.  SPOILERS.  SO MANY SPOILERS.

Here's my basis drawing:

So, obviously, this is based for me, not Jess, because Jess never has brown hair - it's black in the first book and blonde till the end of the book series.

The idea for this costume was to copy the ending of Book One, after she has her major breakdown at the docks, and her face is like partly grey and stuff.  Actually, a perfect description can be found on page 149...I'll copy and past it.

"Jess ... glanced at her reflection in the cracked mirror next to her.  Blood dripped down her arms.  Where it wasn’t bleeding, her skin was grey as rock.  Whenever she moved a miniscule shard of glass dug deeper into her skin.  She did indeed have fangs, grey ones where her two canines should have been.  The ones that had been knocked out after the Art Gallery Incident.  Her face was bruised and bleeding.  One sleeve of her suit was in ribbons.  She ripped it off, leaving her left arm close to bare."

So yeah, that's where that came from.  So basically, this was towards the end of the action.  Here's the photos - sorry they kinda stink, we were in a hurry to go trick-or-treating.

Before Mom Did Her Sewing Magic:

Originally, it was a very tight fitting dress and a long sleeve shirt (part of which has already been cut off), along with a pair of regular black dress pants and boots.  Oh, and a cheap gold belt.

After Mom Did Her Sewing Magic:

Pockets, plus a water gun-turned-awesome, and grey face paint by me.  And yeah, that's my Jessie Willow cosplay.
I hope you enjoyed this totally not late post and I'll see you tomorrow for more awesomeness!  Have a great day!
