Jay - Day 251 (The Easter Bunny)

Hey guys! Noelle put up a ton of writing prompts so I did one. Make her scared of the Easter Bunny. It may seem easy but....It is. Extremely so! So now I get to haunt your dreams with bunnies out to scare you. Yay! (PS If you are triggered by blood and gore, look away!) ENJOY!! *laughs insanely*

Beginning.....and End...

A lot of kids believe in the Easter Bunny. That adorable rabbit that leaves eggs filled with candy. Surprisingly, no one has ever seen him. All everyone knows is he is a rabbit. That's it. The weird thing is, is that, every year, on Easter, kids die. Brutally murdered by....something.
And that, my dear friend, is where our story begins......

Easter Day, 2015

Julia, a petite girl of twelve, had just been put to bed by her two loving parents. She was an average girl in an average home. And tomorrow was a very special day for her.  Tomorrow, if you were curious, was Easter. Tomorrow Julia would go to church, attend their annual Easter Hunt and then go home and have a hearty dinner.
At the minute, she was wriggling in excitement, unable to sleep. She was not an insomniacs, mind you. She was just excited at the amount of candy she would get tomorrow. Just like every child. As she lay there, sleepless, an idea popped into her head. What if she waited for the Easter Bunny? She could meet him!
Jumping up in excitement, she crept to her closet and pulled out a small flashlight. Slimming up the the widow, she grabbed her phone and set it to camera mode. Letting an innocent smile cross her face, she opened her window and gazed out into the night...

Two Hours Later...

Julia sat on the chair next to the window sill, her eyes fluttering. It had been what, two hours? And she still had yet to glimpse the fabled bunny. Letting out a sad sigh, she got up, losing hope. Maybe next year...She thought in sadness she turned. At the edge of her vision, a flash of light gray fur passed by, making her whip around.
"Gotcha!" She yelled, triumphant, only to be met with an empty yard. Huh? I thought I saw...She froze in shock, her hand wavering. There he was, in all his glory. Fluffy gray fur and long, silky ears that lay still, alert. He gazed at her with calculating, crimson eyes.
I thought he would have eyes that were less...scary..Standing there, she raised her camera, expecting to get a picture. As she peered at the screen she was met with a scary sight. The thing was slowly hopping forward, saliva dripping from its now evident teeth. White teeth that gleamed in the moonlight. Letting out a squeak it leapt up onto her window sill, staring intently at her.
"U-uh, h-hi t-there Easter B-Bunny!" She whispered, gripped by an unknown fear. In reply, it let out an almost amused clicking noise. It began to come closer, closer, it's eyes piercing. Sadly, Julia was frozen in fear, unable to move. Soon, it was inches away.
Feeling a wave of terror she began to step back hurriedly, trying to escape. Right after her first step, it lunged.

"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" She scream, but of course no one would hear her screams. Mere minutes later, you could see a little bunny hopping away, it's teeth and fur covered in a crimson coating.

The Next Morning...

"Darling! Wake up its East-" Her mother froze in shock, letting out a chocked sob.
There lay her precious daughter, Julia, covered in her own, crimson blood. Her neck was torn apart, hardly recognizable. You could see the bone, which was also covered in numerous scratches. Her face was a mess of blood, bite marks, and scratches.
The worst thing was what lay in her pale hand. A single, blood-red egg lay in her torn palm. Painted on the most noticeable side was a smiling bunny, complete with a basket off eggs. And dark, gleaming blood red eyes.

I guess the Bunny never wants to be seen. Or maybe it does...If only to have a little fun...

Jeez I think I went a little over board on this Short Story....Sorry! This probably isn't too scary but eh, I wrote this in 15 minutes so yeah, it's ok. Comment if this was too scary or gory or whatever. Hope you like and remember...don't look for the Easter Bunny....
