Noelle - Day 286 (Black Widow Appreciation Post)
Helloooooo everybody!
How are you on this fantabulous Monday? Surviving? I hope so.
So a few days ago, I did a weird post that focused specifically on the new Avenger - Scarlet Witch. (That was post day #284) Anyway, I promised that I'd do a Black Widow post as well, so...here it is! Call it Captain America Civil War prep, because I AM NOT READY FOR THAT MOVIE. TOO MANY FEELS. NOPE NOPE NOPE.
Anyway. Focusing now.
I really love Black Widow as a character - she's snippy, sarcastic, and inventive, plus she puts up with six guys constantly. She's a SHIELD agent, which means she probably liaisons for the Avengers, plus she keeps herself in peak fighting condition. Hard work, y'all.
I get the feeling that Nat would be a HUGE prankster, but also a really good one, so that everybody blames everybody else because it was OBVIOUSLY them. Am I the only one that gets this feeling?
Alright, enough with the fun stuff. Ranting Noelle time. People are constantly saying that Natasha is the weakling of the team, easily breakable and just there to be cute. They couldn't be more wrong - she does act like that sometimes, but it's a cover. She was a Russian assassin. And she does have powers (I'm not making it up, this is cannon)
She was alive in WWII. She was genetically and bio-technology enhanced with a similar super-serum like Steve Rogers. She was trained in the infamous Red Room, along with 26 other girls. She is classified by SHIELD as a super human. Because of her training and serum, she has the natural agility of an Olympic medalist, exceptional human strength, endurance, and stamina, heals at an above human rate, and is incredibly intelligent. She can hack into computer systems with ease. She is Cap's first choice as a second in command for the Avengers.
Black Widow is incredibly cool, y'all. Just saying. Plus, she has awesome fan art.
For all you Messy Marvel/RMS fans, Black Widow is Jess's trainer (with the help of Hawkeye) and has known her since age 10. Spoilers by the way, but when Jess was younger and working with Loki (it's talked about more in book 2) she was the first to figure out that something was wrong. She taught Jess how to fight, and only four to six years later, her protégé was able to a) hold her own against an enhanced speedster b) take down four well-trained super heroes and c) hold her own against a Kun Lung master.
That's just...really awesome to me.
Because of Widow's mysterious back story, that's some pretty cool edits about her:
All in all, I just think that Black Widow deserves a little more attention. Of course, she's probably going to get it after the Civil War movie. Am I the only one that thought she looked uncertain about her team in the previews? After all, she did help Steve and Falcon in the last Captain America movie. And Clint and her are obviously very good friends. As far as I know, she has no connections to Scarlet Witch (did she even talk to her in Age of Ultron) and then there's Bucky, which is the whole reason they're fighting.
My point is, she seems uncertain of her team to me. What do you think?
Anyway, that's all of my Marvel fan girling craziness for the day. I hope you enjoyed this post and comment if you want me to post about any other Avengers, because I do not have any planned, but I will happily do any that you ask for. Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great day!

I was thinking and everybody's been giving Nat a hard time for having no powers...but Iron Man doesn't have powers either. Just saying. |
