Hola!
How are you on this fine day? Good? Great? Not-so-much? Eh? I'm amazing, thanks for asking. Moving on now...remember I said I went RVing with my family recently? It's ok if you don't remember anything of the sort, but I did. I went to Turkey Point and Elk Neck, which are both locations in Maryland (the land of Merry peeps). It's a state park, in short, on the Chesapeake bay.
At any rate, I took lots of photos, and I'm just going to dump them all on you. (Also, in case you were wondering, this particular excursion was with my awesome friend Lily, aka the original Moosey)
You can see the photos below, but just a warning ahead of time - there are tons. And lots of talking. So yeah, a lot. Um, just click the link below.

Our campsite - the signature says "Elk Neck 2015 AND turkey point!" Look at the Wanderer. Ain't she gorgeous? |
One of the many chalk creations that I have made. If you like this one and want to see more, I post most of my chalk creations on Facebook. I have Lily to thank with this one. |
Off we go on our hike (me in flip flops - I forgot my tennis shoes! :( ) |
Hey look, it's me! That never happens! As you can see, I'm wearing my awesome t-shirt from StubieNYC (see Days 49 - 51) which I promised myself to never get paint on (the most commonly told lie in an writer) |
Off we go into the woods! |
Obligatory Moosey photo |
Thanks Mom for your awesome photography abilities! (I did not inherit any of her talent) |
Random wildlife shot |
The troop marches - off we go on the Beaver Marsh Loop! |
The most famous tree ever |
A view (kinda) of the Marsh from an opening in the woods |
Got Lily to pose for this awesome photo by a little ravine. That tree must have been huge?! |
Walking some more. |
Thanks for putting for up with us crazy girls Daddy! (Sweet Captain America shirt too) |
The coast line - we finally made it out of the woods! Break time with snacks and dragonfly photo attempts (none worked but...) |
I did get this cool shot of a random stick. Like I said, no photo abilities here. |
A cool photo of our troops sitting on the logs by the beach. |
Here's a better photo. |
Mom asked for a photo of her and Dad together, so I took this cute photo of them looking out at the bay. |
I couldn't resist - it just had to be black-n-white. I love this photo so much (and the beat DROPS...never mind) |
Lily posed a lot for me that day. You're the best Lily, thank you for putting up with me too! |
A tiny view of the marsh again - we never really saw it very well. |
Lily on the shore...hey wait a minute these photos are way out of order!?! |
Another (in my opinion) cool nature shot. |
Elk Neck! The trees were amazing. |
And we made it back alive to the Wanderer! Yay! |
Skoshi is pooped. |
So I only took photos of the campsite and the walk that we took, but I promise to do better next trip. We also did a ton of walking back and forth from the bay, where a beach with swimming was open. Lily and I swam every day for about two, maybe three hours, surfing on the waves that the speed boats made, building drizzle castles, wading, and collecting the hundreds of shells.
Let me just talk for a minute about the walking here - miles. I'm not even joking when I say we walked miles back and forth from the beach. See, we are not one of the idiots that brought an RV AND a car, so unless we packed up our entire campsite, we were stuck walking. Moving on, the estimate of the there-n-back trip from the bay is four and a half miles. We went twice (4.5 x 2 = 9) and also the hike from the photos above (probably about three miles) plus the swimming for two and a half miles every day (we'll call that two miles, 2 x 2 = 4) so I walked/swam about 16 miles in three days. In short...
There was also an awesome(ly boiling hot) lighthouse. It was a hike, but it was worth the lighthouse - and the view form the cliffs! So cool! (Adding that on the former number of 16 miles, I probably topped out at 18 miles)
Anyway, moving on now, I can't wait for the NEXT RV trip, which is yet to be announced. See you late peeps!
