Get Ready with Me - Kathleen

I'm going to be honest with you, I completely forgot about this until just now. πŸ˜žπŸ˜ΆπŸ˜“πŸ˜•

How are you? I'm doing really well. Yesterday, I had a concert (I sing) and we got to sing with Christine Brewer. If you don't know who she is, go search her. I highly recommend you try and find O Holy Night by her. I was in tears by the end of it.

The process for getting ready is actually pretty simple, but it takes a long time. Get Ready with Me videos are pretty popular on YouTube, so I thought I would try something along those lines in a blog post! Lets get to it!

So the first thing I did was my nails. In our concerts, everything has to be pretty natural, and my nails were painted copper. I don't think that's the most natural thing, so I switched it to Mademoiselle by Essie. I talked about this in My Nail Polish Collection and Ranting about Essie, so I won't say anything about it here. It doesn't show up well on camera, but it is a nice, milky pink.

Next thing to do was my hair. I straightened it and then pulled it up into a half up, half down ponytail just so that it would stay out of my face. I used the Loreal Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Straight Perfecting Balm. It is a heat protectant, and I swear by it. It is the only reason my hair is as soft and split-end free as it is. If you want a more detailed "tutorial" on how I straighten my hair, I may be doing that over on Two Dorks with a Blog in January.

So this is my makeup routine. I apply my concealer on any spots/blemishes/under eyes, and then I blend it out with a makeup sponge. Then I blend BB cream all over my face. I powder everything so it stays on and now it's time for blush. Usually, my cheeks are a bit red from all the blending so I have to wait a bit before the blush. After the blush, I start on my eyeshadow. I'm using the Cover Girl pallet and the Real Techniques blending brush. Finally, I have to curl my lashes and swipe on some mascara. I don't use fake eye lashes, simply because I really don't need them.

The getting dressed process is the longest. I have to wear black tights and a slip, because otherwise my skirt will stick to my legs. I had to buy a boys shirt because we couldn't find any girls shirts, but that's cool. The girls of the choir have to wear red rosettes, and the boys wear red bowties, and I don't know how any of us sing in them, because they are so tight. But we deal.

We got home at like 11 pm, which was super late and I was super tired. We got a standing ovation, and the concert went down really well. I got to give Mrs. Brewer flowers, and it was sooo exciting.

Thank you so much for reading this post! I love you all so much, and because of that, I have linked a video of Mrs. Brewer singing for you. I love this song, and I hope you do too.
