Noelle - Day 327 (Civil War Prep Post!)
Hi everybody!
So I have something fun(ish) planned for today. I think it'll be fun. Basically, this post will be an in-depth examination of Civil War, mostly about the sides. Mwhahahaha I'm going to have so much fun reading this, so I hope that you'll have the same amount of fun reading. :D (note: I'm planning on throwing some Messy Marvel references in there. Deal with it)
So Captain America: Civil War. From what I can see in the trailer, it is Cap v.s. Iron Man (duh) over whether or not Bucky (a.k.a. the Winter Soldier) should pay for his crimes while he was brain washed. Cap is for Bucky, obviously (I'm with you to the end of the line) and Iron Man is surprisingly for the rules. Of course, the rivalry between the two has been simmering for a while, with Tony not taking things seriously in Avengers, and the whole "accidentally on purpose created Ultron" in Age of Ultron. Besides Bucky, there also seems to be a storyline of how people are no longer accepting Steve and his buddies as heroes but as vigilantes. More on that later.
Now, we're all hoping that Civil War will end like this:
On team Iron Man/Pro-"Justice" (Regulation): Iron Man - he seems hard set in his opinion of where he is. He is fighting this war. He's probably feeling intense remorse for Age of Ultron disasters, which seems to be heavily intertwined with the Bucky plot (that was his fault). He doesn't seem to want to do this, but he's upset and hard-set in his opinion. The rules are rules, and I'm following them, kind of deal. He's listed as "consequences" by Mister Paperwork dude, which makes me wonder if he feels like a pawn, or if he is a pawn, or if he's there by choice.
Black Panther - I have honestly no idea why Black Panther is involved with this fight. In his origins comic book, he was only a hero to defend his African country, Wakanda, and no other reason. So...why??
Vison - I'm 84% certain that he's siding with Iron Man because A) Tony's his creator (I'm still a little fuzzy on that...what did Thor have to do with it again? Marvel, I've seen Age of Ultron twice and I'm still confused) and B) he's a robot and has trouble seeing outside the parameters. After all, Bucky broke the rules. Therefore, he must be punished. It makes sense. However, in the previews we see Scarlet Witch totaling him...I doubt that Vision, possessor of the mind stone, can be beat be Scarlet Witch, a mutant.
War Machine - This guy is totally on Iron Man's side. He's military, which means rules are half-programmed into his brain, along with the fact that he has been around since the first Iron Man movie (well, at least, his character has. Actor, not so much) So no matter what side Iron Man is on, that's where War Machine is going as well (plus, Tony kind of made his armor, so he doesn't have an real choice)
Black Widow - this is the one character that I'm uncertain about. In the trailer's "final line up" scene, she kept looking at her fellow team members like she was confused, or like she didn't want to be there. Now, in Age of Ultron, we had that stupid stupid stupid love angle thing, with Bruce Banner and Tasha (ew ew ew EW), so she may be upset about him leaving. She sounds desperate in her voice over for Steve to stay out of the fight over Bucky, so that neither of them will get hurt. She warns him that they both know what's about to happen, and she doesn't say that Cap can't punch his way out of this, but she makes it obvious that she shouldn't. When her and Steve are talking, she's tense and defensive. (also, if you want to learn more about all the female combatants in Civil War click here)
Did I do good, Jay and Alisa? I know you're on Team Iron Man, and don't worry, I'm going to get to Spidey later. Now...on the other hand...my team...Team Captain America/Pro-"Freedom":
Captain America - He is totally and completely for Bucky. He was supposed to be the perfect soldier, but as we saw in Captain America: The First Avenger...don't be the perfect soldier. Be a good man. So yeah. He doesn't seem to want to fight either, but he's obviously stressed and wants Bucky safe, no matter what. Lots of feels, y'all.
Falcon - this guy is the War Machine of the Captain America team. He's not super powered, but he has a powered suit and he's backing Cap up 100%, not matter what. However, I wonder if he has a grudge against Bucky at all - after all, he did almost kill Falcon in Winter Soldier. I doubt it though, because Falcon is awesome. :)
Wanda Maximoff - you know I love this girl (I'm doing a cosplay of her :D) but what I can't understand is why she's in this war at all. Or why there even is a war if she's on their side. However, from what I've read, she's now more afraid of her powers + she doesn't have her brother to ground her anymore. Still, in Age of Ultron, we see her rip apart vibranium robots with just her mind. I know that she hates Stark, since she's convinced that he killed her parents, and also - destroyed their hometown, used her and her brother to get a better robot, even after the disaster that was Ultron, and in affect killed her twin brother. So I can sorta see why she's here. But if she was in it whole-heartedly, why is Stark not ripped to shreds already?
On the other hand, she gets to rock a super hero outfit in this movie (and luckily not one based on her comic books):
Ant Man - not to be repetitive, but this guy is the Black Panther of the team. WHY ARE YOU HERE. Maybe I don't understand because I didn't see Ant Man (it didn't look all that great, okay?) but seriously. WHAT.

Did anybody notice the body at Wanda's feet?? Or is that a backpack?? AAAAAAH I NEED TO KNOW |

Is that a corset?? Wanda, why are you wearing a corset. Also, are you taking make up lessons from Bucky? |
Hawkeye - alright. *clears throat* Except for a few shots, I haven't seen Hawkeye in the trailers. Either they're sidelining his character again (MARVEL STOP WE LOVE HAWKEYE GIVE HIM A MOVIE BUDAPEST) and so far Hawkeye/Black Widow's relationship in this movie has gotten exactly 0% screen time. Not that I ship Clintasha, but I want to know how is Clint dealing with the stress of losing such a good friend? How did Tasha end up on a team that's against the people she usually supports?? Is Clint mad at her? I NEED TO KNOW.
Alright, so that sums it up for both teams. Of course, there's two people missing: Bucky and Spidey, but I'm pretty much done with this post (since the movie is already out in theaters - this took so long to wrote - I'll cut it short) I'll finish up what I had planned quickly, okay?
I'm SUPER looking forward to seeing this movie and I really honestly can't wait. The action looks intense without being just unnecessary violence and the plot line looks very FEELSY. My fangirl senses are tingling!!!
