Jay - Day 330 (Fairies!)
Everyone seems to want some horror stories....so here we go! *Insane laughter fades into the distance*

Ella ran, pants leaving her mouth in uneven bursts. Behind her, the faint beating of wings could be heard, followed by the high pitched chatter of hundreds of small people.
Join us! We'd love to have some company! Please join us! We can make you fly!
They're voices floated into her mind, making fear course through her bones. She would've screamed for help, but her tongue felt as if it was stuck to the roof of her mouth. She ran faster, branches making contact wit her skin. She hissed in pain as one of them cut open her cheek.
It will be over soon, child!
Shaking her head, Ella peeked back at the creatures. Small, tattered wings held their weak bodies aloft. Glowing white eyes seemed to be mentally tearing her apart. Each rib jutted out clearly, as did their cheekbones. Their skin, which was an obsidian black, hung off their frames and wrinkled around their gnarled fingers. Fairies.
"L-Leave me alone!" She cried, pushing back plant life, as blood dripped down her right cheek. Sweat trickled down as she remembered when they first started chasing her.
~~One month ago~~
"N-NO! S-STOP!" She cried, pushing back another beastly creature. These dreams had just recently started haunting her, and she had lost sleep because of it.
"ELLA! WAKE UP!" A male voice yelled, startling her from her dreams. She peered up into the face of her brother, who was older by a year. Brown hair shadowed his face, though she could clearly make out his piercing green eyes.
"Are you okay?" He asked as he helped her into a sitting position. She could only nod softly as she wiped sweat from her forehead. Martin, her brother, handed her a glass of water, and she downed it in one gulp. Chuckling softly, he patted her shoulder before heading to the door.
"Sweet dreams." He said as he walked out, leaving her alone. Shivering at the irony, the girl buried herself among her sheets and cried herself to sleep that night.
***
Ella woke up, not in her room, but out in the forest.
"What the-" She looked from left to right, her short brown hair flying around her in a choppy curtain. "Where am I?"
The place were dreams happen. A voice said from behind her. Turning, she let out a muted scream. It was a person, with their throat ripped out and eye sockets empty. She watched as the female collapsed, small creatures flying from the hole in her throat and from the empty holes that were once eyes.
Welcome, child, to the land of the fairies!
~~Present~~
Join us, join us!
Pushing back the knot of terror in her chest, she burst into a clearing, startling a group of deer. Running to the middle, she fell to her knees. (Who knows why, I'm just the author.)
"Someone...please.." She raised her head as the tears fell. She heard the beat of their wings as they grew closer. But how could she save herself from something that isn't real? Shaking, she curled up into a ball, her eyes wide with hopelessness.
"End my suffering." She whispered to herself as they attacked.
~~Two Days Later~~
"Breaking news! Missing child Ella Backer was found dead in the forest northeast from town. All of her organs had been removed, including her eyes. She had been mauled to death, by the looks of it! We give her family our condolences."
Welcome to the land of the fairies!
(Management would like to add that we really don't want to kill you, just rip your childhood to shreds. Sweet dreams!)
