Noelle - Day 199 (New RMS Short Story Series)

Hiya everybody!
Guess who I got to post?  The other authors of this blog!  :)  They're all busy with their own blogs though, so I don't blame them (you can check out Madison's Blog via that link.  Jillian posted about hers two days ago)

Anyway, I know you read the title and went, "Crud, Noelle has gone full-on RMS cray-cray nut job on us."  Or something like that.  That's not too far from the truth - I'm actually locked out of docs right now, so I can't work on my book!  I know, such a tragedy.  So, while I wait, I started a new RMS-themed short story, because why not.  :P

Today's just a preview, no need to panic yet.  *taps fingertips together evilly*  Yet.  Mwhahahahaha....

So yeah.  Preview of RMS's newest short story (so far unnamed):

Jess had teleported before.  Really.

But falling through this worm hole was like nothing she had ever experienced - the ripping, tearing sensation shredded her very flesh and cut through her heart.  It didn’t hurt, but her nerves felt frayed, old, and bent up when she finally fell out of the timeless hole and onto a concrete floor.

Alarm bells?  Nope.  Approaching enemies?  None that Jess could sense.  The normal signals from across the city bombarding Jess’s brain, but she shut it out and ignored the nagging suspicion.  There was something wrong here - no fight.

She rolled her neck and stood up slowly.  There had been a battle here when Jess fell into the black hole - and she was sure she was in the same spot.  Time rift?  No, this Stark Tower was almost identical to the one she was used to, and no worse for wear.  Something was off though.

If she had a spider sense, it would have been tingling.

Aaaaand that's it for the day!  Be back tomorrow for Day 200's anti-celebration, and don't forget to comment!  Have a great day!
