Noelle - Day 190 (The End of the World)

Can you believe that 2015 is almost over?
Like seriously, wasn't it like October yesterday?  And it hasn't even snowed yet where is my winter wonderland?!  The grass is green.  We have literal flowers blooming in our garden.  I wore a t-shirt yesterday!  A t-shirt!!  Where is winter and what happened to 2015?!

Ah, the mysteries of the universe.

Anyway, I've been doing lost of interesting, well-thought out posts recently, and you knew that it could only last so long.  That's right - RMS is back.  And it wants revenge.

I recently started CHAPTER TEN!!  Whoo!  I'm so happy and excited and its just so cool and I've made it so far in Book Two already.  I was talking to a friend recently (say hi Elena) and we figured out that I wrote Book One in two months, maybe three - because we were brainstorming without realizing it in August, when we went RVing for the first time, and I finished the draft version on Halloween night and had it all posted by mid-November.  Wo.

And here I am, ⅓ to ½ of the way through Book 2, at the end of December.  Wow.

So anyway, you know it's coming...more RMS parts.  Mwhahaha!

The Survivors (Parts 24 & 25) {I've updated the RMS page, by the way, so you can catch up here}

“What were you doing in there?”  Sam demanded as soon as Jess stepped foot outside the apartment building.

“Just getting my purse,” Jess said sweetly.  He gave her a look and they started walking briskly up the street.

“What’s our first move?”

Jess gave him a strange, simpering look and said in a sweet voice that did not fit her very well, “Honey, you promised to take me to the mall, remember?”  Taking a pen out of her bag, she wrote on her forearm - you might be bugged.

He made a face and said, “I already checked.  We have to swing by that alley way and get my helmet first.”

“We can do that last before we clear out,” She said as she scrubbed the message off.  “We actually are going to the mall - I need a laptop.”

“With who’s money?”

“Mine.  We can pull it out of the ATM there.”

“Supplies?”

“There’s a safe house on the edge of town stocked up - older models, but it’ll do.  We can hang there for a few days, get a plan together.”

Sam grabbed her arm.  “Jessie, I thought you had a plan together!”

“Who’s Jessie?”  She said, completely confused.  If she was acting, it was impossible to tell.  “It’s time you start getting my name right, Matt.”

“Uh-uh.  I’m NOT going as Matt.  It’s Sam.  That’s it.  Point blank,” He said stubbornly.

She rolled her eyes.  “Fine.  But seriously, why do you keep calling me Jessie anyway?  It’s Jessica.  Honestly.”

Nova wondered if this was her actual name, or if she was just making it up.  She was convincing at any rate.

*******

They wandered through the mall like any pair of friends, munching on pretzels and window shopping.  Jess bought a pair black heels that Sam really didn’t think she needed and he bought a baseball cap that she insisted was a waste of time.

“We have a shadow,” she whispered after about half-an-hour of this.

“Already?”

“Actually, I’m surprised it took them this long.  Split up.”

Jess vanished into the crowd, leaving Sam alone in the middle of the mall.  He meandered on, wondering which person the S.H.I.E.L.D. guy had tailed.

Suddenly, his phone rang - new number.  “Agent Alexander, do you still have an eye on the target?”

Sam jumped at the sound of his last name and slid onto a nearby bench.  “Um...who?”

“Jessie Willow, you idiot!”  Oh...it was Spider-man.

“Um...”  He glanced around the mall.  Jess’s blonde head was nowhere to be seen.  “No, I lost her.  Agent, um, James, still is tailing her.”

Silence.

“We’ll call you back for an update in half-an-hour.”  Click.
