Noelle - Day 96 (Yet Another Day of Being Me)

Please note...
It is literally FOUR DAYS TILL WE REACH THE ONE HUNDRED DAY MARK!!!  I'm so excited!!! (can you tell) But seriously, I feel like we should do something to celebrate, don't you?  I dunno, but I'll think of something (I always do...evil laugh)

Anyway, focusing more now on the present instead of the future (however close it might be) and you know what that means!  Well, you do if you actually read the blog posts that I write, which is unlikely, but you know, maybe I have real blog followers.  *gasp*  Am I just weird enough to be liked?  *ahem*  Stay on subject, Noelle.  Ok.

At any rate, I promised that I would post R.M.S. parts today, so I'm going to.  Remember, I'm running a poll - what do you think that I should name R.M.S. (because I'm not just going to go around and keep calling it Random Marvel-based Story, that's weird).  Also, I'm going to start posting it a lot more often, because as some of you know, I'm going as Jess for Halloween and it would help if you knew why I looked the way I looked.  :)  I can't wait.

Click the link below to start reading the R.M.S. part, as promised, and see you tomorrow (three days till one hundred!)

Random Marvel-based Story (Part 50) {Speaking of part-way marks, check it out! 50!!!}

“Spread out over the ship, she cannot get away!” The director yelled at the troops.  “Highly dangerous, remember, if found do not engage!  Do.  Not.  Engage!”

The soldiers nodded, and then the security doors of Nick Fury’s office slid shut with a clang.  He collapsed into his chair, rubbing his forehead.  A security breach like this hadn’t happened since the days of Loki, years ago.  What was that little snake up to?

The doors slid open again, and the computer flashed “Spider-man and company”.  Nick tensed, waiting for the barrage of questions.

“What do you want us to do?”  The red-and-blue suited boy came in, followed solemnly by his team - all except Jess.  He had been half-hoping that his teen team had found her, knowing her best, but no such luck existed under the sun.  Nick sighed again and sat up a bit, wondering if the coffee was too far away to reach from here or if he should just send Coulson.

“Find her - she’s beyond control, but if you meet up with her, try to talk her down.  If we can’t find her, I’m calling in the Avengers,” Fury said, rubbing his temple in frustration.

“Is there anything we need to know about Jess?”  Peter asked, keeping his flat voice even and respectful.

“No, anything further is classified.  Don’t push your luck Parker, and get out of my office!”  Nick grumbled, waving his hands and standing, wondering where Jess would go if he was her.

Suddenly, a figure jumped down from above, landing directly behind him and immediately pulling him into a death grip.  The team froze as Jess slowly pulled out a knife and placed it gently against Nick Fury’s neck.  “I would be soooo happy if everybody sat their butts down and told me what was going on,” she hissed.  When they didn’t comply, she tightened her grip, adding, “Don’t think I won’t carve your precious director open!  Sit.  Down.  Now.”

They sat down, and Jess forced Nick Fury into his seat.  “Now, please tell me why I’m suddenly cut into bits and why you all want to suddenly kill me.”

“Kill you, no!”  Sam said but he wasn’t fooling her.

She turned and fixed him with a death stare.  “If I wanted to be lied to then I would ask you, Nova,” She snapped, rubbing her hands over the cuts instinctively.  No blood came back, but some muscles were still cut on the inside - she could feel it.

“You’ve been out of control for days now, Jess,” Nick said, standing up slowly.  “We’re just trying to figure out what’s wrong with you.”

“Strike two,” Jess said calmly, allowing Nick a step closer.  She knew exactly where his feet and fists were anyway.

“Do you remember anything from the past week?  The Art Gallery, the helicarrier incident, waking Danny up and attacking him?  Do you remember any of that, Jess?”  Spider-man said, his mask creasing into a frown.

“Alright,” She said, “I’m done playing.  What’s really going on?  And why are you bothering to lie?  You know I can figure out what's going on without you, but I’d prefer not to have to take down the helicarrier.  Been there, done that, now haven’t I Nick?”

Nick Fury grimaced.  He had been trying to sneak around his desk to get behind her, but Jess seemed to know where everyone was even now, when she was hurt and hysterical.

She spun around and pointed a gun at the director.  “Back off, Mr. Director sir,” she said, flicking the pistol for effect.

“That’s not a loaded gun!”  Fury exclaimed, trying to keep Jess distracted until Nova could pin her.

“Oh you never learn do you?”  She laughed, and did the same spin kick that she had used on the Beetle all those months ago.

It would have knocked Nick Fury out, but Nova caught her by the ankle before she could complete a full spin and sat on her.  He pulled the gun away, but Jess wasn’t done yet.  Danny could see her eyes, and something struck him - she was scared.  The main thing he was picking up from those cold, grey eyes was the fact that Jess was terrified, and she would do anything to protect herself, but why?  Surely she knew that this was hopeless - a helicarrier v.s. Jess!?  He was about to speak up when Jess attacked, wriggling her way out of Nova’s grip before anybody could move.

She recovered the gun without even having to try - everybody was still in shock - and hissed with such hatred that everybody backed up a step, “Anybody in this room moves and a bullet goes right through his skull.”  Sam shook, flat against the floor, Jess’s bare foot pressed against his back.  She’s beyond reason now, he thought, but something said that there was a reason, a motive, behind all this.

“What about outside the room?” Wondered a voice behind Jess and everything went black.
