Pumpking Picking and Braeutigums Orchards - Kathleen
Hi everybody! How are you? Gearing up for Halloween? I STILL don't know what I'm going to be. But I do have my pumpkin! It's a beautiful, perfectly round gourd of a pumpkin that is very excited to be gutted and carved into.
I don't know what I'm saying. It's 9:30 pm. I should just start this.
Basically, I took a bunch of pictures while pumpkin picking, so I thought, I can do a Day in the Life post! We go here every year to do our pumpkin picking and never fails to leave some memories. So here are my pictures and my day today.
A little background on Braeutigums Orchards; Braeutigums has been in the Braeutigums family since 1831, but it wasn't until 1935 that they started growing fruit. They took their fruit to the St. Louis market, but didn't realize that the buyers wanted greener fruit. Rollin's (the owner) children told him to sell it right on his farm. Rollin didn't think people would want to drive a mile down a dirt road for fresh, tree ripe fruit, but the people came. They now do pick your own and hundreds come every day.

So those above are some pictures of the front entrance to Braeutigums, we went around two pm, but it got busier around three.
We got on our tractor ride to get to the pumpkin patch. There were some lovely views on the ride out.
It was SUPER easy to find a good pumpkin! I walked right up and there was this perfect pumping sitting right in the middle of the path. I thought someone must be saving this, BUT NO! So now it's mine and is sitting on our fireplace.
Braeutigums sells these amazing Apple Cider slushies and donuts, and they are AMAZING! I ate like 2 in one sitting.
So this park above, has been the stuff of my childhood. I've spent countless fall days here. They make little houses out of sheds and put little wooden stoves and ovens in them and let the kids go crazy. It's awesome. They make it like this whole little village.
(*Noelle butts her head in un-invited* Sorry not sorry. Anyway, I may have to do a painting of this picture..... *waltzes away*)
Last stop was the animals barn. They had a turkey, some cows, chickens and two pigs. Olivia fed the cow, but none of us were in the mood to go near the pigs.
So yeah, that was our lovely day spent at the orchards! The link to their website is below, the address should be on there.
Have a lovely day!
