How to NOT Die (Part 2!)
Hey guys!
I'm back again with more tips that I'm not qualified to tell y'all (because I'm not 18 yet. We tecnically have no proof that these tips help you make it to 18. Well, this is awkward) I hope you guys like these posts because I'm planning on doing 101 of them! But not all today, luckily. Nah, today is just:
101 Ways to NOT Die (before age 18) #21-40
Ok so this book is one of the things I mentioned in the list above and honestly I could talk about it for *hours*. It's beautiful, it's written by a husband-wife power couple, and just ugh I love its message beyond all belief. It's aimed towards girls but I'd suggest it for everybody, and for all ages, because it truly is a great book.
And I'm going to stop right there before I go on a full-on rant about this book. Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post. Leave some of your tips in the comments below for future generations and don't forget to read the first post to!
Have a wonderful, blessed day :D

- Talk to your parents. They aren't trying to ruin your life, I promise
- Don't tolerate unhealthy relationships. You are worth more than unbalanced friendships, abusive romantic relationships, and constant online depression (sort of a tangent, but when I went to Stuebenville 2017, one of the talks was on social media and how when a person is exposed to negative, complaining posts online, they're more likely to exude that emotion, and visa versa. Keep your feed positive, and you're more likely to be happy and healthy :D )
- Read How to Find Your Soulmate without Losing Your Soul by Jason & Crystalina Evert (picture down below), even if you're not a girl or strictly Christian.
- Set your boundries before you get romantically involved with somebody. It's easier to decide what your rules are when hormones aren't raging
- Know that you are not required to have a crush or significant other. Repeat that to yourself when ever you are starting to feel down because you haven't found your 'other half'
- Read poetry. Try to understand it
- Study/work for 30 minutes at a time. Get up, move around for a few seconds. Every hour and a half, take a 15 minute break.
- Know that just because you're younger doesn't mean your opinion is worth less
- Vocalize hurts, even if they are petty or silly. Seriously, letting them stew solves nothing and hurts more in the long run, and getting it off your chest is scary...but also is so worth it
- Accept blame - WHEN THE BLAME IS YOURS.
- Ask for help if you need it
- Look around
- Don't ignore little kids
- Include outcasts
- If you've got time, get a part time job. Here are some options you might not have thought of:
- Babysitting (less is more. Charging $5 an hour per kid and doing your job well usually results in a nice tip)
- Dogwalking (this is especially handy if you're a homeschooler, because this gives you the option of walking dogs during the day, when publicschoolers can't. I usually charge $10 a week for a 15 minute daily walk, or $20 a week for a 30 minute daily walk)
- Tutoring (depends on what you're doing. I teach art classes locally for $5 a girl per hour, and it's usually not too bad)
- House watching (especially during the summer when people are out vacationing)
- Get at least 8hrs of sleep a night (if you're having trouble with getting enough sleep but still feeling groggy, look up sleepyti.me. It helps you time your sleep schedule with your natural sleep rythms for A+ sleep)
- Learn how to say "no" and not feel bad about it
- Have a code word with your close friend(s) that you can say should you feel depressed, anxious, panicky, etc.
- Do SAT practice. 20 minutes a week does miracles (you can set up Khan Academy to send you email reminders, which is both super easy and bloody annoying)
- Have a playlist that you never delete music from. Don't be afraid to crank it up (we're all going to be deaf by age 60 anyway)
