Jay- Day 362 (SHORT STORY)

I WILL SAVE 365!!

Not really, but I will write a quick story to make up for today's post....let's begin, I guess!

((Note to self: work on intro!))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little boy sat against a cherry blossom tree. The pink petals lazily fell around him, splashing the ground in flickering shadows. The dark red kimono he wore was a little big, so that when he sat down, the collar covered his lower face. Sadly, it didn't cover the pair of fluffy tawny ears that lay flat against his head, half buried by his strawberry blonde hair.
The boy whimpered and held his ankle, which was swollen and bruised. He had been at the church praying when a monk had seen him, called him the spawn of Satan, and thrown him out. As he was dumped on the street he had tripped, which resulted in his recent predicament.
"Oh, hello there. Are you alright?" A childish sounding voice said from in front of him, and he slowly looked up. A girl his age sat in front of him, smiling down at him. Her pale lilac hair was held up in two separate ponytails, and she wore a simple white dress with a pink sash around the waist.
"A-Ah, yes, I'm fine!" He said hurriedly, though when he went to move, he hissed in pain. The girl sat down next to him and gingerly grabbed his ankle, placing it in her lap.
"I'm Kura." She said with another gentle smile. She pulled the pink sash off of herself and wrapped it around his ankle, tying it tightly. Nodding numbly, the neko watched for a second, his tail twitching under his kimono.
Once she was done, she got up and brushed herself off. Helping the boy to his feet, she turned and began to leave. Realizing such, the boy called after her. "I'm Yukio!"
~~~~~~~~

It had been 12 years since then.

Yukio stood in front of his new school, late again. Hefting his beg over one shoulder, he trotted up the steps and into the school building. Remembering where to go due to a tour he went on a week ago, the neko slid down hall after hall before reaching the auditorium. Taking a deep breath, he opened the door...

Silence.

Everyone stopped whispering, and the principal quieted from where he was lecturing up on stage. Feeling his ears go flat against his head, Yukio shuffled nervously in hi spot.

"Oh! You must be the special transfer student form Tokyo! Welcome!" The principal boomed, waving him up. Yukio bit his lower lip but obeyed, slowly making his way down the aisle. As he did, he could hear the other seniors and sophomores whispering about him. About his ears and tail.

Reaching the stage, he quickly made his way up the steps and stood next to the principal, who patted his shoulder kindly.

"Students, this is our new transfer student Yukio Nakuma. He's a neko, a fictional creature thats half-demon, half-human." As the principal went on, Yukio's tail drooped and his ears lowered.

Here we go again with all that demon crap. The strawberry blonde thought as the principal finished. Looking up, he noticed the students were leaving. Sighing, he followed the crowd down the hall and into the unknown.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yukio leaned against his locker, attempting to stuff his tail down his pants. Yeah, it was uncomfortable, but it was better than being a freak.
Finally succeeding, the teen fixed his uniform and turned, only to slam right into a girl.
"Sorry!" He mumbled as he got up, his tail freeing itself and waving all over the place in surprise. Helping her to her feet, he stumbled back in shock.
It was her, the girl from that day 12 years ago....
"No, it was my fault....do I know you?" She asked, tucking a loose strand of hair behind one ear.
"Well, I actually know you....you bandaged up my ankle a long time ago, when we were kids...your Kura, right?" He asked hopefully.
"Yep! Wait....Yukio? Wow, you grew!" She giggled and was about to continue when she seemed to remember something. "Oh, I'm sorry, I've gotta meet up with my boyfriend! Bye!"
As she walked off, his shoulder's drooped sadly. "Man, the first cute girl I actually know and she's taken."
~~~~~~~~~~~

He had just graduated. Smiling, he went to go find his older brothers when he heard crying. Ears perked, he followed the sound to a shadowed area away frond the crowds.

Kura sat against a tree, sniffling. Walking up slowly, he slip down beside her. He hadn't talked to her much, as she was popular and he wasn't.

"Hey Kura, you alright?" He asked, only or her to hug him tightly.

"H-He broke up with me Yukio!" She sobbed as he awkwardly hugged her back. She sobbed for awhile before pulling back.

"S-Sorry Yukio....I-I'm just kind of sad. Y'know, breakups are hard."

"I actually don't know. I've never had a girlfriend, and I've never kissed anybody." He shrugged as a shocked expression crossed her face. She seemed confused, but shook it off.

"So you've never liked anybody?"

"W-Well......I liked you." He mumbled, blushing. As he looked up, he was pushed back as she slammed her lips on his. He was shocked for a moment but kissed her back.

When they pulled back, she smiled at him happily. "Now you've gotten both. Your first kiss and first girlfriend!"
