Inklings 2

Here are the beginnings of a book I've started.
Please don't mind that it doesn't have a title, I've always been taught to write the paper then come up with a title.

Chapter 1

'Splash!' Cold water flooded in over head. " Help!" yelled Misty, a poor, little 1 year old white fox pup, water gushed in her mouth, choking her.             "Help, somebody help me!!" It was winter and Misty had just fell in the icy Dasini lake. In the summer she had pranced around and swam in the shallower parts of the river, but not today. She slipped while trying to grab a stick. Misty wished her adopted red fox mother Saril, could be here to lift her out of the icy cold lake and into her soft furry winter coat. That was the best, when Saril took Misty and cuddled her in her paws. Suddenly Misty felt a tug on her neck and she was lifted high out of the water and onto dry land, sputtering and coughing in the process. Misty  looked around to thank or catch a glimpse of her savior, but no one was in sight. It was a mystery.

'Whoosh' A warm summer breeze blew past, rustling Misty's muddy brown  fur back and forth. Her claws dug up the ground beneath her as she watched and waited for something to pass by, for at the moment she was very hungry. Misty lived in a small cave that no other foxes wanted, she guessed it was too small for their 'satisfaction', but it was just right for her. She was lonely at this moment, and almost every moment of her life since she moved to The Valley of Foxes, because she lived about 2 miles away from all the other fox dens. Misty was just dozing off when she suddenly hear a loud THUD, causing her to bolt up very quickly forgetting her den roof was way too low for her to stand up all the way. "Ouch!" Misty yelled. Apparently startling the thing outside. "Hello... hello, is anyone in there? Said a voice outside. Misty mind was racing. Should she fight, or hide in the back of her cave. Not knowing what to do, on instinct she jumped from her den and pounced on the thing.

Chapter 2

'Ack' was the only thing Rozi, the black wolf, could muster to say when a little flying ball of brown fur jumped on him. It was so surprising that he tried all he could not to roll over and crush the thing nipping and growling at him. As soon as he got the thing off of him, Rozi  immediately asked What in the world was THAT?!?!" "The better question is what are you doing so far away from Dark Wolf Mountain? Are you planning an attack?!" Snapped, what Rozi could see now was a brown fox with a little black star shaped mark on her ear, and what looked like a blue butterfly necklace around her neck. "Dark Wolf what? I have no idea what your talking about? Rozi replied confused. "I live pass the Dasini lake, no where near here. I got lost". The white fox looked a little ashamed "Well... My name is Misty" said the fox. "...well are you just going to keep staring at me or are you going to tell me your name?" Rozi blinked like he had just been lifted from a trance. "Oh...my name is Rozi." " Isn't Rosie a girls name?" Misty replied sarcastically. " It's pronounced Rose-Eye." Rozi replied.  "Sure it is." Said Misty. " So where are you from?"asked Rozi. " I'm from..... well, what kind of wolf are you?"Misty said quickly, as if she was trying to change the subject. "I'm a mountain wolf." " Well I'm a white fox." "No your brown." " No, I'm a WHITE fox, just wait for winter, then I'll be white." "Oh , yeah I forget about the shedding thing." Misty, apparently board with the conversation, crouched down, next to the nearest tree, and quickly jumped, climbed, and clawed her way up to the first branch, which was, what Rozi thought, about 10 feet high. Rozi was shocked, " wow, how did you-" but when Rozi looked up to talk to Misty, he only saw her frozen with complete fear all over her face. " what's wrong?" Rozi yelled up. " Shhh! Get up here!" Misty whispered loudly so Rozi could hear her. Rozi suddenly heard what sounded like marching, and from his good hearing, it sounded like a lot of... of.... somethings coming towards him and Misty. In-fear, Rozi backed up, ran toward the tree, and tried to jump up just like he saw Misty do. But instead he jumped right into the tree's trunk with a very hard,'THUD!!!"

'Guard the prisoners, guard the prisoners' Rex, dark gray wolf, thought over and over. ' I'm not going to mess up this time, like last time or the time before that... or-' " When are you 'all mighty wolves' going to realize that this crazy and we did nothing to you!?! The little, annoying brown fox yelled at Rex. " When you wake up your little wolfy friend here", Rex replied. " How can I when I'm caged up?" Misty said rolling her eyes " Oh right just let me get the key here and- " Rex! What are you doing?" Yelled Buttercup, a red fox and a student to the Dark Wolf School of Dungeneering. " I was just about to let this little fox go so she could-" " But Rex don't you think that if you let her out she'll make a run for it, and then how many prisoners will we have left?" "Uhhhhh... Carry the two, now where do we put the forty seven-" "ONE! We will have one prisoner"yelled Buttercup very annoyed "OOOHHH! You totally had me lost there Buttercup." Rex said dumbfound. " Ugh, sometimes your impossible to work with". Replied  Buttercup while walking over to the little brown foxes cage " So... little-" Buttercup was shocked, looking into the cage,  the only thing she saw was another hole dug out on the other side, for the cages where made out of dirt, because that was pretty much the only resource they had.  Furious she turned to Rex when all of a sudden there was a loud "CRASH"! The brown fox was up on a  high self when she knocked down a bucket full of water, and it landed right on top of the black wolf's head. " I'M UP! I'M UP!" He said jumping up in his cage.  Buttercup had to act quickly or her prisoners would escape. She ran after the brown fox while yelling at Rex to make sure the black wolf didn't get out either. It took a while for Buttercup to catch up with the other fox, but one second before nearly nipping the foxes tail she was knocked hard off her course and into the wall by something. Buttercup passed out.

Chapter 3

Seeing that the red fox chasing her was knocked out, Misty slowed her pace. She turned around to see a tall, silvery color wolf crouched behind a rock. Misty, noticing a gray wolf guarding the cage Rozi was in, crouched behind a rock about 15 feet away from them. Thinking the silver wolf didn't know what to do, she quickly crawled from rock to rock until she could almost touch the gray wolf. The silver wolf was about to dig a hole for Rozi to get out when the gray wolf noticed him and quickly turn around to face him. Just as he was about to pounce Misty ran around him and kicked him right in the face knocking him out. "Wow I've never seen a girl use violence before" taunted the silver wolf. "Oh yeah, well  you saw it once on that wolf do you want to be the next?" Misty replied growling. "Oh yeah, well I don't fight girls!" The silver wolf grimaced. " Well maybe you should reconsider." Said Misty crouching down, ready to attack. The silver wolf replied, " Well you-" " Guys, there are more important things to do than fight, LIKE RESCUING ME!" Yelled Rozi, still in his cage. "Oh..yeah... right...we forgot...to..yeah" muttered Misty and the silver wolf. As soon as they got Rozi out, he said " Now Misty, when you first meet someone you don't tackle and bite them, you do like this" Rozi turned toward the silver fox. "Well hello fine sir, what's your name?" " My name is Chu Chu, but do I need to be all sophisticated when I say it?" Chu Chu said sarcastically. " well Chu Chu, I'm sorry I tried to attack you and called you a Chu Chu train." Misty admitted. " I'm sorry too about- wait you didn't call me a Chu Chu train." Chu Chu said suspiciously. " well maybe I was just thinking it" mumbled Misty.  " Hey!" Said Chu Chu.

                  ~<>~<>~<>~

" You know we better put out this fire before we go to sleep" suggested Rozi. Misty, Chu Chu, himself, a fox and wolf that tried to capture them were all camped out in a cave. Misty, Chu Chu and Rozi were waiting for their prisoners to wake up, so they could ask them questions.  Misty finally  stood up and declared. " I'm tired of always being afraid of those Dark Wolves." " Yeah" Rozi joined in. " my group of wolves never had trouble with them, but I've heard that they've looted others groups of wolves before." "They have also ran through my  village taking the strongest male foxes and the prettiest female foxes." Misty complained. " I see you weren't taken" the little red fox, which was their prisoner, sneered. Misty growled back. Apparently feeling faint again, the red fox passed out again. Chu Chu was quiet the whole time they were talking. He finally got up slowly, walking slyly toward the opening at the front of the cave, when suddenly he was swept away by a big dark figure. Rozi and Misty raced out to see what happen to their friend. It was very dark, but Misty and Rozi could see what had captured their friend.  Before them was a giant  black hawk with Chu Chu clutched in its claws, not able to move or fight back.
"Go!" Chu Chu yelled at Misty and Rozi. " I don't want you getting hurt too." Misty ignored Chu Chu's demand and  got in attack position while Rozi stood in shock. Then all of a sudden, what Misty and Rozi had feared happened,  the huge bird took off with Chu Chu still in his talons. After a moment of silence and shock, Rozi and Misty started walking inside the cave to figure out what to do next. " I felt like I could have done more" Misty said sadly. Rozi confessed " It happened so fast, there's not much more you could have done." "I still feel bad, but your right. We need to come up with a plan" Misty said wound  up in thought about how they were going to rescue their friend.
